Vision

  • To be instrumental in developing professional social workers with excellence in social work teaching, learning by doing, research, extension, innovation and partnership building.

Mission

  • The department aims at molding men and women aspirants into professional social workers with competency, empathy, commitment, dedication and positive attitude to meet the contemporary developmental challenges, following participatory and democratic approaches.

Goal

  • Our goal is to perform proactive roles in the growth and development of the Nation as well as the World by producing professional social workers on a par with international standards of social work profession.

Objectives

  • To instill novel and innovative thoughts and ideas among the social work aspirants in the process of facilitating professional excellence in social work disciplines.
  • Focusing each student in realizing her/his capacities, skills and potentials so as to facilitate critical reflection and learning in the process of developing them as a professional for a better employment/career.
  • To safeguard social justice, human values, stakeholder participation, decentralization and democratic principles in activities of social, economic, cultural, political, governance and ecological.
  • Contributing to develop new ideas and plans in generating sustainable development based on real time data/information through documentation, studies, researches participatory learning and extension activities in partnership with Academic Institutions, Research and Development Institutions, Governmental, Local Self Governments, Non Governmental and Private Organizations /Entities .
  • To synergize theoretical and practical knowledge for a better social order keeping human dignities and values.
